Local Pooler Magazine Feature and finding my "Why"

There are moments in life that feel like little bookmarks —times when you pause and think, wow, this really happened. Like the time I met and photographed Gregg Allman, and later went on to shoot the cover of his posthumous album. That was a tremendous honor and something I will never forget.

As meaningful as moments like that are, sometimes the quieter, local stories end up touching your heart in an even deeper way.  A beautiful example of that was being featured in Stroll Magazine for our Pooler, Georgia neighborhood.

The article, “Brushstrokes of Hope,” shared my journey from photography into painting and how art slowly became more than just something creative — it became healing, grounding, and a true part of who I am.

What meant the most to me wasn’t just seeing my work in print. It was being able to talk about the why behind it all. If I'm being honest, it was the first time I really sat and thought about why I had been painting the past few years.  I realized art had become my reset button, my therapy, and honestly, my calling.

To have that story told so thoughtfully was incredibly meaningful. It reminded me how connected creativity and community really are — and how sharing our stories can help someone else feel seen.
